At the heart of VIIQ is Clarity IQ™, our proprietary intelligence engine and research methodology designed to transform complex public information into clear, accessible civic knowledge.
Clarity IQ is not a black box or an algorithm making decisions for you. It combines intelligent technology with rigorous editorial standards to organize publicly available records, connect related information, identify meaningful patterns, and structure complex data into formats that are easy to understand.
Every page on VIIQ is built using this process. Information is gathered directly from primary and official sources whenever possible, cross-checked against public records, and carefully reviewed. When information cannot be independently verified, we clearly identify it rather than speculate or fill in gaps.
Clarity IQ helps us organize information faster and more effectively, but editorial judgment always remains human. Technology helps us organize information. People remain responsible for the facts.

VIIQ stands for Virgin Islands Intelligence Quotient. Our name reflects a simple idea: a stronger democracy begins with a better-informed community.
VIIQ exists to make public information easier to find, understand, and compare so Virgin Islands residents can make confident, informed decisions about the people, policies, and issues shaping our islands. We don't tell you what to think. We help you understand the facts.
Why this matters
Elections can be decided by a small number of votes, and policy shapes daily life long before most people notice. When information is unclear, scattered, or buried in documents most people never see, those moments pass without full understanding — and decisions get made without anyone seeing the whole picture.
In the Virgin Islands, leadership, policy, and public systems are closely connected, but those connections aren't always easy to see from the outside. Clarity IQ exists to make the invisible visible and the complex understandable, so people can engage with what's actually happening — not a simplified or spun version of it.

We pull directly from official records — election commissions, legislative trackers, government agencies, and the U.S. Census — rather than relying on secondhand summaries or aggregator sites.
A note on limits: Clarity IQ is a process, not a guarantee. We rely on what government agencies and official sources make public, and that information isn't always complete, current, or easy to access.
