Warren Mosler is an American economist, hedge fund founder, and one of the originators of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). He has lived on St. Croix since 2003, where he operates his financial firm Valance Co., Inc. He has run for office in the USVI multiple times since 2006 and previously ran for governor in 2018, receiving 4.7% of the vote. He funded the QE IV passenger ferry service between St. Croix and St. Thomas, built by Gold Coast Yachts, and served as Senior Economic Advisor to the USVI Senate in 2012.
